Phoenix Suns set back after Kevin Durant Departure….

PHOENIX — The Phoenix Suns are just one game under .500 after Christmas – not exactly the spot many hoped the team would be in.

The Suns are 14-15 – have yet to see their coveted big three play more than one game together – and are a mess on both ends of the floor.

As you would anticipate, much of the attention has fallen on prominent names such as Devin Booker and Kevin Durant, two of the game’s best that haven’t quite been able to turn the tide of the season. Phoenix has lost their last nine-of-twelve entering Wednesday night’s matchup against the Houston Rockets.

Many were hesitant to pull the trigger on the Durant deal with Brooklyn at last year’s deadline, one that saw Cam Johnson, Mikal Bridges, Jae Crowder and draft picks sent to the Nets in exchange for Durant + TJ Warren.

Yesterday, former NBA player Brandon Jennings suggested Durant should leave the team.

On Bleacher Report’s recent instagram post, Ross doubled down by commenting “objectively speaking 🤷‍♂️”:

Ross reached a buyout with the Orlando Magic towards the end of last season and signed with Phoenix in hopes of reaching a championship. He announced his retirement earlier in December.

Former Suns shooting guard Terrence Ross added his own two cents:

“Dawg they was doing fine before they traded for him. What’s the problem?” he added.

As for Durant, he is under contract through the 2025-26 season. He just turned 35-years-old and has previously won two NBA titles with the Golden State Warriors.
