Could Justin Fields join Atlanta?
Justin Fields’ future is a hot topic in the NFL.
Fields’ future is in limbo. He is under contract with the Chicago Bears for 2024, but the Bears hold the first overall pick in the NFL Draft, and many expect Chicago to draft a quarterback.
That would end Fields’ Chicago career, and they will likely trade him.
Speaking on the St. Brown Bros podcast, Fields confirmed that his first choice is to stay in Chicago, although he did praise Atlanta’s current offense when asked about potential destinations.
Fields said, “I think they got a lot of playmakers on the team. Of course, Bijan [Robinson]. They got my boy Kyle [Pitts] there. Of course, Drake [London]. They probably need one more receiver, but they definitely got some guys over there. And their defense was good this year, too.”
Fields grew up 30 minutes from downtown Atlanta. He also studied at the University of Georgia. The Falcons need a quarterback, and Fields potentially needs a new team.
It would seem a perfect story. But Fields did provide one negative aspect of any potential homecoming, saying, “Atlanta would be tough. The only con of going back home is just people hitting my phone crazy, wanting tickets to the game.”
Following these comments, odds are shortening on a Fields homecoming to Atlanta..
With the Falcons owning the eighth pick, they could miss out on drafting one of the elite quarterback prospects. A trade or big free-agent signing could be their only option for finding a quarterback.
