Predictably, lots of questions about the WNBA given the news of the week and the regular concerns about the Raptors.
A good week overall. Wonder what we’ll branch out into next week?
So great to hear that a WNBA franchise is coming to Toronto. Some excitable posters on X and Reddit gushed that Dr. Lowry’s attendance at the presser meant “He still loves Toronto!”
Besides his friendship with and respect for Larry Tanenbaum, any word if Kyle Lowry might have a small stake in the ownership group?
Trust me, Lowry has a true and deep affection for Toronto. It is not fake.
I also know his respect for Larry Tanenbaum is deep. Very deep. And I was only spoke to Lowry for a minute the other day — mostly catching up on away-from-the-game stuff — so I didn’t ask him if he was an investor in Kilmer Sports Ventures. But Kyle has some business chops, he knows how successful Larry is and it’s certainly something I’ll ask him next time.
But regardless, I know he’d be here to lend support either way.
Hi, Doug. Thanks for all the Raptors insights and perspective, especially to keep the faithful going in the off-season. Coming into contract talks, much attention is on Gary Trent Jr. and Bruce Brown.
But with so much veteran presence moved out in last year’s trades, Garrett Temple seems to be the most senior and sage voice in the locker room that’s up for renewal, so to speak. It was rumoured that Scottie Barnes bumped heads with some of the older star players and vets, but Temple seems to be respected and work really well with our rising stars.
I think he has a very mature and balancing impact on the team, and man does he give it all when he hits the court! What are the chances management keeps him around for a couple years while the team matures as a whole?
Really appreciate your thoughts.

They need to absolutely take their best shot at re-signing Temple. He was a great connector between the players and the coaching staff. And he’s still got some game, if needed
