With each passing week, September approaches and the Dallas Cowboys still haven’t secured their main stars for a long term period.
Dak Prescott can be seen as an exception, as there was apparently a mutual agreement between him and the organisation not to renew his contract for the time being.
However, the younger stars, CeeDee Lamb and Micah Parsons are still without concrete signs that they will extend with the franchise.
Micah Parsons is in no hurry to re-sign
While CeeDee Lamb is absent from the mandatory minicamp and has already accumulated a considerable fine for missing practice, Parsons is already reunited with the team.
According to the player himself, he missed the OTAs to concentrate on maturing as a person, taking time off to heal his body, soul and spirit.
About a week ago, he stated that he was in no hurry to have his new contract signed. “I’m patient. Patient is a virtue. I’m waiting my turn. Let CeeDee go get whatever. Let Dak get whatever.”
Dallas picked up the defensive end’s fifth-year option from his rookie deal while not opening up for further negotiations.
What could happen if Parsos does a holdout
On Wednesday’s edition of Get Up on ESPN, Dan Orlovsky argues that Parsons should be out of workouts as a form of “protest” because Jerry Jones has not yet proposed a new deal.
“Micah Parsons shouldn’t step on the field without a new contract. Which one of the big three in Dallas is gonna play the hard game? Is it gonna be him, Dak Prescott or CeeDee Lamb?” said the insider.
