Tony Vitello is making another addition to his Tennessee baseball staff.
Former Cincinnati pitching coach Josh Reynolds is joining the Vols’ staff in a hybrid role that will see Reynolds work with the pitchers while also filling a support staff role, a source with direct knowledge told Knox News on Wednesday. The source requested anonymity because the hiring has not been made official.
Reynolds spent one season at Cincinnati and has been in college baseball for more than two decades. Reynolds previously coached at Colorado, Northwestern and Kansas State. He was a third-round pick by the New York Mets in the 2000 MLB Draft and spent time in the minor leagues before shifting to coaching in 2004.
Reynolds will help fill some of the duties on the operations side after Chad Zurcher left his director of baseball operations role for a job on on the athletics business side at UT.
