The rivalry between the Kentucky Wildcatsand Louisville Cardinals will always show intense competitiveness between the two programs. This is due to their being in-state rivals and the battle for the Governor’s Cup trophy, a symbol of bragging rights and dominance in the Bluegrass State.
Sadly, this year was a blowout as Louisville dominated Kentucky, 41-14, snapping Kentucky’s five-game win streak in the series. While the loss itself was disappointing, it wasn’t the craziest story of the day.
Kentucky offensive tackle Gerald Mincey was spotted at the concession stand during the game. Although Mincey has been sidelined with an injury since the Florida game, seeing him grabbing snacks mid-game reflects poorly on him and the program.
Just bad.
With Mincey now finished with his collegiate career, you have to wonder what will change next season after three disappointing seasons in a row. Hopefully, Mark Stoops and the staff can figure it out this off-season, and Kentucky can get back to winning games and also win a bowl game for the first time since 2021.
