Former Michigan linebacker Devin Bush Jr. is headed back to the AFC North.
The No. 10 overall pick by the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2019 has agreed to a one-year deal with the Cleveland Browns, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported Thursday.
The Steelers declined the fifth-year option on Bush in 2022, and the 5-foot-11, 236-pounder signed a one-year deal with the Seattle Seahawks last offseason worth $3.5 million. He played the lowest percentage of snaps in his career at 27%, finishing with 37 tackles, including five for loss, in 13 games (three starts).
Bush’s career got off to a promising start, recording a career-best 109 tackles, four fumble recovers and two interceptions while finishing third in defensive rookie of the year voting in 2019.
His production hasn’t been the same since suffering a torn ACL against the Browns in 2020. In four seasons with the Steelers, Bush, 25, had 286 tackles and four sacks, but his on-field usage declined each of his last two years.
The two-time All-American at Michigan will now get a chance to face his former team twice in 2024.
