The Baltimore Ravens will have a lot of fire going into this upcoming season. The team made it all the way to the AFC Championship, suffering a brutal defeat to the Kansas City Chiefs, and they will look to complete the job this year and bring home a Super Bowl. Baltimore got one of the best running backs in the league during free agency signing the king Derrick Henry, and now head coach John Harbaugh has told the media that the team will be very different for this season.
After their disappointing end to the season John Harbaugh has said, “there’s no doubt” that there will be big changes to come in 2024. The most notable is of course their new star running back Henry.
Harbaugh told the team’s website that the changes will be around the star quarterback:
Lamar Jackson had his second MVP season under offensive coordinator Todd Monken and led the team to a 13-4 record. The team did however end with a major collapse in the AFC Championship and now they have been trying to regroup to get the job done in 2024.
He’s got a lot of thoughts. I think he’s looking at every aspect of his game. He starts with himself; that’s what I love about Lamar. [He asks,] ‘What can I do better?’ And that’s why he continues to improve. Then, he goes to what we need, what we need schematically in his view, and he trusts the coaches. We talked and shared ideas schematically, also personnel-wise. We’re kind of working on that now, and then, he’ll come back, and he’ll look at everything, and we’ll want to know what he thinks. Like, ‘Do you prefer this or this? Are you comfortable in this direction or that direction? What do you like? [Are there] any other ideas you had since we talked last?’ Lamar will be part of the architecture. I believe he’ll be a big part of the architecture of the offense.
