The Dallas Cowboys own the 24th pick in the 2024 NFL Draft and one of the biggest needs this offseason is left tackle. Tyron Smith signed with the New York Jets in the offseason and has been the Cowboys starting left tackle for over a decade.
It is a new time for Dallas as they also have other needs with wide receiver, defensive line, and running back. Finding a blindside tackle for quarterback Dak Prescott will be really important for the 2024 season. Whoever they draft, that player will need to grow up in a hurry at the NFL level.
There will be plenty of quality starting-caliber left tackles and other quality offensive linemen in the 2024 NFL Draft. In the latest 2024 NFL Mock Draft by Nick Baumgardner from The Athletic, he has the Dallas Cowboys selecting Tyler Guyton from Oklahoma, who is an offensive tackle.
The reasoning he gave as to why the Dallas Cowboys would make this selection is because:
Guyton’s not far behind Mims on the “athletic freak” scale. He carries some similar consistency concerns, as well, but Guyton has the profile of a giant tight end — a good tight end, not a slow one.”
He is 6’8″ and weighs 322 lbs. Guyton started for a couple of years with the Oklahoma Sooners at right tackle.
