









CLEVELAND — The Yankees’ hot start to the season has met its first weather postponement.
Friday’s game against the Guardians at Progressive Field was postponed due to inclement weather, setting up a split doubleheader on Saturday
The first game will begin at 12:10 p.m., with the nightcap scheduled to start at 6:10 p.m.

Coming out of Thursday’s off day, Clarke Schmidt had been scheduled to start Friday’s series opener with Luis Gil following Saturday.

Now, the Yankees will likely need to insert a sixth starter either as the 27th man for Saturday’s doubleheader (and bumping Gil to Sunday) or by Wednesday’s game against the Blue Jays in Toronto, which will be their sixth game in a span of five days.
The Yankees could also try to go with a bullpen game at some point during that stretch, though their relievers have carried a fairly heavy load through their 10-3
