After battling an injury to his right Achilles for over a month heading into the Super Bowl, Greenlaw tore his left Achillesduring the second quarter of San Francisco’s overtime loss to the Kansas City Chiefs.
It was a devastating end to a great season for the fifth-year pro, who spoke on Thursday about the emotions he still goes through thinking about the injury.
Sometimes you get a little flashback and shed a couple of tears thinking about it,” Greenlaw said, per Matt Maiocco. “It’s definitely an emotional thing because you know how hard you worked for that moment, how hard your team worked to get in that moment. You’re that close to it and you can’t go out there and compete. So it just kind of feels like you left everybody hanging.
