Michigan football is among the finalists for top-50 wideout Quincy Porter in the 2025 recruiting class according to a list released by the Bergen Catholic standout on Monday.
Porter cut his recruitment down to six teams which includes Michigan, Texas A&M, Ohio State, Penn State, Oklahoma, and Alabama. Porter is 6-foot-3, 190 pounds and ranked 49th overall in the 2025 class according to the 247 Sports composite rankings.
There aren’t any crystal ball projections for Porter right now, but Michigan football holds a lead according to the On3 prediction machine. The standout from New Jersey is set to visit the Wolverines and Ohio State in the month of June. The four-star wideout also visited the Wolverines during the spring and recently got visited by the U-M coaching staff.
“I have a great relationship with (wide receivers coach) Coach (Ron) Bellamy,” Porter said to Chad Simmons of On3.com when Porter talked about his top six. “It was fun to see him again. I was able to see Coach Newsome, who I’ve known for a while. It was also good getting to know Coach Campbell. I like them all a lot.”
Oklahoma is also expected to get an official visit. The Wolverines have five four-star commitments so far in the 2025 class but none at wide receiver and Porter would be a massive get.
Michigan football is also making headway with top-100 safety Jordan Young. The Wolverines made his top eight recently and are among four schools set to get an official visit.
Clemson is the leader according to the On3 prediction machine but Michigan, North Carolina State, and Florida State are also in the mix. Tennessee was supposed to get a visit on the weekend that Young will see the Wolverines but changed his schedule to come to Ann Arbor.
