As expected, the Chicago Bears selected USC superstar quarterback Caleb Williams with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, giving the team its first franchise quarterback.
Although Williams has a lot to prove moving forward, as he will have some incredibly high expectations to reach during his career in the league, the former Trojans superstar seems up for the task and brimming with confidence.
However, players of his caliber can tend to try to do too much on the football field in order to reach those high expectations, which has some concerned that he might overdo it in his rookie campaign in the Windy City.
On a recent appearance on “The Jim Rome Show,” Williams’ new teammate and star safety Kevin Byard urged the No. 1 overall pick not to resort to hero ball in his first year in the league.
“Like, don’t, don’t try to, don’t try to come in and feel like you got to come and play hero ball,” Byard said.
