Tennessee Volunteers defensive lineman James Pearce Jr. is getting prepared for his junior season. After going 9-4 a season ago, Tennessee is aiming to make it to the expanded College Football Playoff field. The Volunteers will look to prove themselves in a very tough SEC Conference.
Pearce Jr. did not have much production during his freshman season, but his numbers jumped big time during his sophomore season. As a sophomore last season, he recorded 27 tackles, 9.5 sacks, two forced fumbles, and one defensive touchdown (52 yards). James Pearce Jr. was on the All-First SEC team a season ago in college football and hopes to be on it again during his junior season.
Because of his sophomore jump, a lot of people think that he could be a very high selection in the 2025 NFL Draft. CBS Sports Chris Trapassothinks that Pearce Jr. could go as high as the number two overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. He has him going to the Tennessee Titans in that mock draft by saying:
“Pearce was ridiculously productive in the SEC last season and has the size and traits to go this high in the draft.”
He is 6’5″ and weighs 242 lbs. James Pearce Jr. and Michigan Wolverines defensive tackle Mason Graham could both be top five picks in the 2025 NFL Draft on the defensive line
