The Los Angeles Lakers have a crucial offseason ahead of them where they’ll need to figure out what kind of roster they want to build.
The Lakers have seemingly fallen out of title contention, especially considering how the 2024 NBA Finals have played out between the Boston Celtics and Dallas Mavericks.
Los Angeles doesn’t have the same level of outside shooting and two-way versatility that those two teams do, so general manager Rob Pelinka will have his work cut out for him scouring the market for help in free agency.
Pelinka and his staff will also need to decide what to do about the 2024 NBA Draft as they’ve got the No. 17 and No. 55 picks.
The growing sentiment is Los Angeles will trade one or both of those picks to acquire win-now help, but if they stand pat there will be some intriguing options on the board.
Bronny James has been gaining steam in recent weeks and it appears that his workout with the Lakers left an impression on the team, via Jovan Buha of The Athletic.
“[Bronny] James impressed the Lakers in his workout with his athleticism and intensity, according to team sources. The 6-foot-1 guard’s 3-and-D skill set appeals to the Lakers,” Buha reported (via Lakers Daily).
