We’ve seen them thrive in South Beach and then struggle mightily somewhere else, with most of them getting a big payday after their days with the Heat.
Notably, that could be the case again this summer, this time with Caleb Martin.
According to a report by Mike Scotto of HoopsHype, the swingman is going to opt out of the final year of his contract with the Heat (via NBA Central).
He’s set to make just north of $7 million next season and is reportedly looking for a big payday, one that he might not be able to get with the Heat if their recent history is any indication.
Martin has shot 37% from beyond the arc over the past three years, and shot-makers are always in demand in the current market.
