Despite going 15-0 and winning a national championship last season, the Michigan football team never truly found stability in the return game last fall.
Over the 15 games, a total of 10 different players returned a total of 50 combined kickoffs and punts for the Wolverines. Even in in its legendary Rose Bowl win over Alabama, Michigan fumbled a punt in the first quarter that led to an Alabama touchdown, then muffed another punt close enough to the goal line to raise every Michigan fan’s blood pressure, before Jake Thaw regained possession, and held onto the ball just outside of the end zone with the game hanging in the balance.
Now with plenty of question marks elsewhere, the Wolverines are hoping to come out stronger in the return game in 2024.
