It allowed athletes to cash in on their potential and use the lucrative money for their game development. However, it wasn’t without its own set of problems. For one, the NIL didn’t allow immigrant athletes to make money through their partnerships with major brands. And one such player who suffered at the hands of this provision was the ex-South Carolina Gamecocks star, Kamilla Cardoso. However, that changed after Cardoso transitioned to WNBA, where she has now signed a partnership with a $240 Billion company and shared the news via social media platform TikTok.
