Sometimes life can throw you a curveball. This guy has totally dominated the 200 meters for over 4 years now and yet he can’t seem to close the deal on the biggest stage. 2 Olympics have come and gone and the only thing he has to show for his dominance in the 200 are 2 bronze medals. In the 2028 LA games Lyles will be 31 and likely not the favorite by then. Thus it’s possible he may never win that gold. To his credit though, he has already won the 100 meters gold which is the more coveted of the sprints.
What other athletes have dominated in their sport (athletics or others) and yet never got to win the top prize?
