The San Francisco 49ers asserted their dominance in the NFC West with a convincing 30-13 win over the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday. Quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo threw for 3 touchdowns, while the defense held the Seahawks to just 248 total yards.
The 49ers got off to a strong start, with Garoppolo connecting with tight end George Kittle for a 23-yard touchdown pass on the opening drive. The Seahawks responded with a field goal, but the 49ers extended their lead with a 1-yard touchdown run by running back Elijah Mitchell.
In the second half, the 49ers’ defense took over, holding the Seahawks to just 34 yards. Garoppolo added his third touchdown pass of the day, a 15-yard strike to wide receiver Deebo Samuel.
“Today was a great team effort,” Garoppolo said. “Our defense played lights out, and we were able to capitalize on their mistakes.”
