Los Angeles Sparks forward Nneka Ogwumike scored 23 points and grabbed 10 rebounds in a 78-74 win over the Phoenix Mercury on Friday.
Ogwumike, who is in her 10th season with the Sparks, was dominant in the paint.
“We played tough,” Ogwumike said. “We knew it was going to be a physical game.”
The Sparks improved to 5-2 on the season, with Ogwumike leading the team in scoring and rebounding.
“We’re feeling good about where we’re at,” Ogwumike said. “We’re looking forward to the rest of the season.”
