A back-and-forth home opener saw the New England Patriots drop their first game of the season 23-20 in overtime to the Seattle Seahawks.
After going three-and-out in overtime, a defensive pass interference on Jonathan Jones gave Seattle’s offense a chunk gain to help move into field goal range — where Jason Myers knocked through a 31-yard game winning field goal.

First Quarter
The Patriots started Sunday with the ball after the Seahawks won the toss and deferred. New England opened with a three-and-out, as Jacoby Brissett was sacked on third-down after two opening touches for Rhamondre Stevenson.
Seattle picked up just one first-down on their first possession of the day, but pressure from Keion White — which resulted in a split sack between Anfernee Jennings and Jabrill Peppers — and a pass breakup by Jaylinn Hawkins on third-down forced a punt.
New England’s offense got on the move on their next series as back-to-back passes to Hunter Henry picked up a pair of first downs. The duo then connected a third time on a third-down just outside the red area, as Brissett worked his way outside the pocket again to move the ball inside the 10. Two plays later, Brissett hit Ja’Lynn Polk in the back of the end zone for his first career touchdown. [Patriots 7 : 0 Seahawks]
