Caitlin Clark never missed a single game during her college career due to her incredible desire to play, but the Indiana Fever star may need to take some time out after her most recent illness.
The Fever took on the Phoenix Mercury in a highly-anticipated clash on Monday, with the world putting Clark’s performance under the microscope.
But Clark – the No. 1 overall pick in the 2024 WNBA Draft – had a tough time when coming up against legendary veteran Diana Taurasi for the first time.
While the Fever were down 15 points at one point, they came roaring back to defeat the Mercury with a scoreline of 88-82.
Clark finished with 15 points, nine rebounds and 12 assists – just one rebound short of a triple-double. Despite her decent statistics from the game, she looked a little off color.
After the game, Clark skipped her media duties, which reporters took as something highly unusual. However, Fever head coach Christie Sides informed them that Clark wasn’t feeling too hot and spent time with their physio.
“She wasn’t feeling well the entire game,” Sides said. It was later reported Clark was suffering from a migraine, according to the Indy Star’s Chloe Peterson.
