Tennessee baseball players and coach Tony Vitello joined Morgan Wallen as the country music star entered Neyland Stadium for his Friday show.
Outfielder Hunter Ensley carried the national championship trophy from Tennessee’s first national title, which it won in June against Texas A&M. Ensley handed the trophy to Wallen, a Knoxville native and Gibbs alum, while walking through the tunnel on the north side of Neyland Stadium. Vitello had a Tennessee state flag draped over his shoulders.
They entered through the northeast gate as “Broadway Girls” − the Lil Durk song which features Wallen − played. Ensley hoisted the national championship trophy over his head to loud cheers.
Wallen hugged Vitello and standouts Christian Moore, Blake Burke, Dean Curley, Dylan Dreiling, Billy Amick, Kirby Connell, Zander Sechrist, and Ensley after coming out of the tunnel. Many of the players attended with some in the crowd on the field seats and others in the west tower.
Wallen performed the first of two shows at Neyland Stadium on Friday. He will perform again Sunday.
