Hugh Freeze is well aware of the intensifying talks of Auburn football firing him so he’s just trying to buy some time. Hot on a losing streak, which is at four after they lost to Missouri 21-17, Freeze is now justifying his losses.
“I’ve only had one regular season losing record and, this is seems like that every winnable game has not gone our way,” the Auburn head coach said, according to (h/tLogan Fowler).
“Not a single one. And, you know, obviously. I hate the result for the players and our incredible fans and administration and you guys that cover us. I hate it. It makes you sick.”
And that’s not the only thing Freeze has to say.

If there’s one thing that Freeze knows, it’s getting the spirits up after another loss. Freeze’s motivational words did not fail to create a stir this time too.
“I do think we still play not to lose instead of man, let’s play to win,” Freeze said at his Monday press conference (h/t 247 Sports). “Truthfully, we probably are coaching that way some, too. I feel the pressure of those calls, of not being free to do what I’ve done for years and oh man, we could screw this up or we could not execute this correctly. “
While it’s evident that Freeze is providing all the positivity he can, Auburn’s still not improving and losses are piling up. He can afford a bad season, but how long are Tiger fans going to support the program with all of their being?
Because if that dries up, then timelines can be expedited.
