The high school football season has reached postseason play, and it is time to start tracking how Alabama football commits fared in the playoffs.
While some saw their seasons come to an end, some are still in contention for a state championship.
Each week, The Tuscaloosa News will track how some of the top Alabama football commitments performed during high school games the week before. Here’s a roundup of how some of future Crimson Tide players performed during high school action from the week of Nov. 18.
Keelon Russell
Duncanville (Duncanville, Texas), QB, 2025
Performance: The five-star went 5 of 9 for 133 yards and one touchdown in a 56-14 win in the second round of playoffs. Russell has now passed for more than 3,000 yards this season.
Mal Waldrep
Central (Central-Phenix City, Alabama), OL, 2025
Performance: Waldrep was a part of a Central offensive line that allowed the Red Devils to account for 177 yards of total offense in a 17-7 win over Hoover in the third round of the Class 7A AHSAA playoffs. The Red Devils will play for a state title next week
Kaleb Edwards
Oak Ridge (El Dorado Hills, California), TE, 2025
Performance: Edwards had two receptions for nine yards and one touchdown in a 26-0 win while adding five tackles, one for loss, on defense. Edwards and Oak Ridge play for a state title this week.

Millville (Millville, New Jersey), WR, 2025
