ESPN’s Kirk Herbstreit expresses major doubt that Tennessee Vols fans will travel en masse to Columbus for Ohio State game
There’s been a lot of talk this week about Tennessee Vols fans potentially “invading” the Horseshoe this weekend for UT’s first round College Football Playoff game against the Ohio State Buckeyes.
Tennessee’s ticket allotment for the game in Columbus is only 3,500. But Vols fans have been scooping up tickets on resale sites as they are fairly cheap and readily available.
Some folks have suggested that we could see as many as 30,000 Tennessee fans at the game.
Kirk Herbstreit, a former Ohio State quarterback who will be calling the Tennessee vs Ohio State game for ESPN on Saturday night, isn’t buying the idea that 30,000 Vols fans will make the trip to Columbus for the game.
“Can you imagine? Now, they get 3,500 [tickets]. What’s Ohio Stadium these days? Over 100,000,” said Herbstreit this week on Pardon My Take. “You get basically three percent of the stadium is going to be in orange. You believe them? They may be getting 30,000 people in there? No way.”
