Florida State football did not have the season it wanted in 2024 as they had a 2-10 record. This is not what the Seminole fan base expected after the program accomplished an undefeated regular season and a conference championship in 2023.
Winning only two games is not the standard at Florida State. Head football coach Mike Norvell knew this right away as the program fell flat on its face and was a laughingstock of college football.
As a result, Norvell decided to fire some of the assistant coaches and hire new, reliable options. Then the Seminoles secured a solid recruiting class as well as a transfer portal class.
With that being said, the job is not finished in the portal as they secured the likes of fifteen transfers. Even with the first day of spring classes starting today (January 6th), that does not mean that Florida State is eliminated from getting any more transfers.
Here are three transfers that I would like to see the Seminoles grab in the portal.
WR KAEDIN ROBINSON (APP STATE)
Florida State has made headlines in the transfer portal, where they have already landed wide receivers such as Duce Robinson and Squirrel White.
Robinson is a 6’6″ big-bodied playmaker that Thomas Castellanos can rely on in critical situations, while White is a shifty pass catcher who can make you miss in the open field. The offense has the potential to be really solid in 2025.
I believe that you can never have too many playmakers in an offense. Florida State had one of the worst offenses in the country in 2024. As a result, head football coach Mike Norvell gave the keys to offensive coordinator Gus Malzahn.
A name that I am monitoring is App State wide receiver Kaedin Robinson. The senior pass catcher recorded 840 yards and two touchdowns last year for the Mountaineers and signed with the UCF Knights back in 2021 when Malzahn was the coach.
Robinson is listed at 6’2″ and is the best of both worlds between Duce Robinson and Squirrel White. This could be a pickup that the Seminoles need in terms of a yards after catch target.
