While fan interest in the 4 nation’s tournament has been mixed, there have been some wins for Detroit Red Wings fans.
Lucas Raymond has 3 assists, and some beauties at that. The creativity that continues to grow in his game saw backhand self passes to get past defenders, shot fakes and a puck on net leading to a nice finish by Dahlin.

While the fan debate will go on for many of the in season tournaments, for the players it’s looked like pure joy. The CBA has seen players go to bat for Olympic participation and outside discussions have brought the World Cup of Hockey back into the picture.
Regardless of what these tournaments do for the game overall, Detroit’s best kept secret in Lucas Raymond is becoming much less of a secret. Larkin was given more minutes and made it work. The captain can still transition quickly from defense to an offensive opportunity. It’s more than likely the two will have some kudos waiting for them when they regroup in Detroit.
