5 reasons why FSU football will hit the over on its preseason win total
TONY WHITE’S DEFENSE
Florida State football had several new hires to its coaching staff. I liked the previous regime of coaches, but I knew that something had to change after the embarrassing 2-10 record last year. That was not the standard of the proud Seminoles’ program.
With that said, head football coach Mike Norvell did something that I never expected him to do: Hire six new coaches.
One of the new coaches that I am very intrigued by is defensive coordinator Tony White. I know that many individuals in the fan base used previous defensive coordinator Adam Fuller as a reason behind the losses. The real reason was the lack of a competent offense. While the defense wasn’t stellar by any means, it was not the main issue.
Many analysis feature Tony White’s 3-3-5 defense. It isn’t your typical 3-3-5. They run multiple schemes off of it to confuse opposing offenses. He has had a top-twenty defense in each of the past three seasons and was successful in containing the running game (a key foundation of being successful).
I think the Seminoles will have a more than serviceable in 2025 under White.
