The Auburn Tigers went 5-7 in Year 2 under head coach Hugh Freeze, a slight step back from the previous year when they went 6-7. However, with back-to-back top-10 recruiting classes (247Sports), Auburn fans have hope for the future.
The offseason is in full swing now as the Tigers gear up for spring practice and their annual spring game, “A-Day,” which will be held on April 12.
Meanwhile, Auburn announced on Friday that Freeze had been diagnosed with prostate cancer.
Recently, Coach Freeze was diagnosed with an early form of prostate cancer. Thankfully, it was detected early and his doctors have advised that it is very treatable and curable. He will continue his normal coaching duties and responsibilities, and with forthcoming proper treatment, is expected to make a full recovery. Coach Freeze is incredibly appreciative of our medical professionals and has asked that we use his experience as a reminder of the importance of prioritizing and scheduling annual health screenings.
After the announcement, Freeze’s daughter, Ragan Freeze Reynolds, shared a short message on social media.
“my hero 🫶🏼,” she wrote.
Reynolds serves as an executive assistant for the Tigers and has worked alongside her father since his coaching days at Liberty before Auburn hired him in 2022.
A 2020 Liberty graduate, she first took on the role of assistant to the director of football operations before becoming the assistant to the head football coach at Liberty.
