The Red Sox had to answer to Alex Bregman’s wife before his three-year, $120 million deal was official earlier this month.
During a Thursday appearance on the “Section 10” podcast, Bregman explained a previous report that said his wife, Reagan, helped put together a 16-page document of questions for the organization amidst their negotiations.
I think Reagan’s questions were about like, family life,” said Bregman, who did not confirm or deny the size of the document. “She’s actually in Boston right now. She called me and she said, ‘It’s 10 degrees right now, but I love it.”
“She’s pumped. She got into Harvard. She asked a bunch of questions about housing.”
Reagan, currently pregnant with the couple’s second son, is enrolled in Harvard’s executive business program, according to The Houston Chronicle.
The entrepreneur is the co-founder of Wild Sol, a salsa dip that’s infused with tequila — and an investor in the app Reffer, a life management app founded by NFL wives and players.
The couple celebrated four years of marriage last November.
“And I asked a bunch of questions about what they’re thinking about winning,” Bregman said when asked about his questions to the Red Sox.
Bregman — who spent the last nine years with the Astros and won World Series titles in 2017 and 2022 — emphasized Boston’s winning culture in his introductory press conference on Sunday.
I’m a winning player. This is a winning organization,” he said, referring to his Red Sox teammates. “Those players are winning players. We have winning coaches here.
“I plan on winning here after talking with some of the guys over the last two days. I can see that there’s something special here.”
