Tennessee basketball is coming off its biggest win of the year, and possibly the biggest win of the Rick Barnes era with its 79-76 win over No. 6 Alabama.
It isn’t the biggest win because it was a win over Alabama, a top-six team in the country, or a team that could very easily be a Final Four team. It’s a big win because it virtually locks in the Vols for a No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament.
To commemorate the massive win, Tennessee basketball released a recap video on social media titled “game of the year? ” It posed the question to Vol Nation as its biggest win of the season and the postseason implications that came with it.
The video sets the stage with behind-the-scenes pregame speeches from Rick Barnes and Jahmai Mashack.
“You’re down to three regular season games, you don’t leave anything left with energy, effort, and focus,” Barnes says.
“They want to win just as bad as we do,” Mashack follows. “We just gotta show it.” There’s no better person to “show” his want to win than Mashack, especially looking back at his performance in the game’s final few minutes.

If Tennessee can handle business in the final week of the regular season, the Vols being a No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament will likely be a reality.
The Vols have two games remaining in the regular season. They are set to visit Ole Miss Wednesday night before hosting its final home game of the season against South Carolina.
