Houston Rockets forward Amen Thompson was injured in the Rockets 146-117 win against the New Orleans Pelicans. It was one of Thompson’s better games of the season as he had 15 points, 11 assists , and 9 rebounds in 33 minutes. Thompson was one rebound shy of his fifth triple-double of his career.
Head Coach Ime Udoka had no updates in regards to Thompson’s injury after the game.
” No update but I saw the replay and he rolled it as he went up for a jump shot and he landed on his foot but as of now I don’t have any updates,” said Udoka.
Thompson was injured when he came down on the ankle of Pelicans center Karlo Matkovic. It appears Thompson hurt his left ankle during the play and the Rockets will probably be able to reevaluate Thompson once the swelling goes down on the ankle.
The injury occurred late in the fourth quarter with six minutes left in the game and with the score already lopsided in favor of the Rockets. Coach Udoka will probably have to field questions later as the outcome was no longer in doubt and there was no need to have Thompson in the game. Both teams had already pulled starters from the game however, Thompson remained on the court.
The Rockets will be looking for good news soon as they wait on the results of one of their star young players.
