On how difficult it was for Oklahoma’s offense to dictate how South Carolina’s defense played
“(It’s) more, we want to take what they’re giving us. We want to make a lot of reads, have really
good ball movement.
“I think they stifled us. They’re very, very good – very disciplined on the defensive end. They stretch you out
on the offensive end. They made it difficult. The whole environment made it difficult for us. You want to start a heck of a lot better than you do. You can’t pass it to them because they’re too good, they convert too easy.
“I thought we did a better job in the second half. You have to show up from the tip, or you’re not going to
make it.”
On the next steps Oklahoma needs to take for deep run in NCAA Tournament
“We have to step up in every game, regardless of how big it is. I think we’ve gotten better. We’ve gotten a heck of a lot better since we were in South Carolina the first time. You can see that. But we got a long way to go – especially, the deeper you go, the more tired you get, and mental toughness comes out. That’s where I feel like, today, we needed to be a little bit mentally tougher to start the game.
