The University of Kentucky men’s basketball program is actively engaging with potential transfers to strengthen its roster for the upcoming season. Among the players contacted are Tulane guard Kam Williams and Florida State forward Taylor Bol Bowen.

    Kam Williams

Kam Williams, a 6-foot-8 freshman guard from Tulane University, has garnered attention for his impressive performance during the 2024-25 season. He averaged 9.3 points per game and showcased exceptional three-point shooting with a 41.2% success rate. Williams’ ability to play both the 3 and small-ball 4 positions offers versatility that could be valuable to the Wildcats. He was recognized on the American Athletic Conference (AAC) All-Freshman Team for his contributions. Williams has expressed admiration for Kentucky’s program, stating, “They have a great team. I think they’re going to win the entire thing, but that’s just me, personally.”

    Taylor Bol Bowen

Taylor Bol Bowen, a 6-foot-10 sophomore forward from Florida State University, started full-time for the Seminoles in the 2024-25 season. He averaged 8.0 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 1.5 blocks per game, with a field goal percentage of 47.7% and an impressive 41.4% from beyond the arc. Bowen’s defensive versatility allows him to guard multiple positions, making him a strategic asset. He has two years of eligibility remaining and has been in contact with Kentucky assistant coach Jason Hart. Bowen remarked, “They’re a winning program. It’s a super rich history. It definitely interests me.”

Both Williams and Bowen are exploring their options in the transfer portal, and their potential addition to Kentucky’s roster could significantly bolster the team’s depth and versatility. The Wildcats’ coaching staff continues to assess talent to enhance the team’s competitiveness in the forthcoming season.
