Good morning, BBN!
The Kentucky Wildcats men’s basketball team is laser-focused on playing Tennessee in the Sweet 16 on Friday. The Cats are also focusing in on ensuring their roster is set with next year’s best transfer portal options.
Two things can be true at once, and this staff understands the high importance of both right now.
Here’s a shortened list of the potential targets that have been contacted so far. For a more in-depth piece, check out this link from Aaron Gershon of 247 Sports.
- Donovan Dent (New Mexico)
- Treysen Eaglestaff (North Dakota)
- Elyjah Freeman (Lincoln Memorial – DII)
- Nick Davidson (Nevada)
- Dedan Thomas (UNLV)
- Alvaro Folgueiras (Robert Morris)
- Kam Williams (Tulane)
- Frankie Collins (TCU)
- Lamar Wilkerson (New Mexico)
- Taylor Bol Bowen (Florida State)
- Magoon Gwath (San Diego State)
Three names have entered the portal this week for the Women’s team: Clara Silva, Tanah Becker, and Saniah Tyler.
Tyler and Becker didn’t play too much this season, but losing Silva felt like a big blow. She was a highly-touted international recruit and had a nice Freshman year. She entered the portal with a “Do Not Contact” tag.
The portal season has become much like NBA Free Agency. A lot of fun to see where potential players land.
