WACO, Texas — Baylor football is set to host an exciting new spring event, the Baylor Blitz, featuring a youth skills challenge and open practice, on Saturday, April 26 at McLane Stadium. This fan-focused event will provide a unique opportunity for young athletes to engage with the program, while giving fans a look at the team as they conclude spring camp with a competitive open practice.
The event will kick off at 10 a.m. with the Baylor Blitz Youth Football Skills Challenge. This exclusive experience allows pre-registered participants (grades 3-8) to rotate through fun football drills while interacting with Baylor football players at each station. Spots are limited to approximately 300 participants and will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. Registration opens on Thursday, March 27 at 10 a.m. on BaylorBears.com and will close once all spots are filled. There is no cost to register.
Following the skills challenge, Baylor football student-athletes will take the field at noon for an open practice, featuring a competitive showcase of drills including 7-on-7, Perimeter, Down the Line, 1-on-1 challenges, and more. Fans are invited to watch as the Bears fine-tune their skills in this action-packed final practice of spring camp.
Gates will open to the public at 10:30 a.m., and admission is free. Fans may enter at Gate C and standard stadium policies will apply, including the clear bag policy. Concessions will be available at select stands throughout the event.
Adding to the excitement, the Baylor Bookstore, in partnership with Baylor Athletics, will host a special Surplus Sale at the McLane Stadium Sideline Shop (located on the second level near Gate C). Fans will have the opportunity to purchase game-worn jerseys and brand-new, team-issued apparel from various sports, including exclusive bowl game gear. The Surplus Sale will be open to the public beginning at 10:30 a.m.
Beyond football that weekend, Baylor softball hosts a Thursday-Friday-Saturday, three-game series with BYU at Getterman Stadium.
Baylor is in the midst of a 15-day spring practice schedule, which started on Saturday. The Bears will continue spring practice through April 26. Baylor is coming off an eight-win season in 2024 that featured a six-game winning streak to conclude the regular-season, the longest such streak in program history. BU returns a bevy of talent from that 2024 Texas Bowl roster, including quarterback Sawyer Robertson, running back Bryson Washington, wide receiver Josh Cameron and linebacker Keaton Thomas, with each of the four standouts etching their name in the Baylor record book during the 2024 campaign.
In the event of inclement weather, Baylor Blitz will be canceled, and the Surplus Sale will be rescheduled.
