Indiana offensive lineman Austin Barrett enters spring transfer portal
Indiana Hoosiers offensive lineman Austin Barrett he announced on social media this weekend
The redshirt sophomore signed with Tom Allen’s 2023 recruiting class, selecting Indiana over other offers including Cincinnati, Duke, Illinois, Iowa State, Kansas, Kansas State, Northwestern, Syracuse, Virginia Tech, and West Virginia.
The St. Charles, Illinois native redshirted in 2023 and last season in 2024, Barrett appeared in five games as a reserve right tackle role.
The 6-foot-6, 305-pounder was ranked among the top 25 recruits in Illinois by 247Sports (No. 19), Rivals (No. 25), and On3 (No. 12). 247Sports Composite ranked Barrett as the No. 81 overall offensive tackle in the 2023 class.
Barrett will have three years of eligibility remaining for his new program.
Indiana’s projected starting offensive line this upcoming season is (Carter Smith, Bray Lynch, Pat Coogan, Kahlil Benson, Zen Michalski) which is must improved from last season.
The Indiana Hoosiers will hold their annual spring football game on Thursday, April 17th in Bloomington, Indiana and it will be the first time the Hoosiers will tackle all spring.
