Former Missouri football QB Maty Mauk lands first coaching job at Principia High
Former Missouri football quarterback Maty Mauk is now a high school head coach.
Mauk was named as the new head coach at Principia High in Town and Country, Missouri, near St. Louis, marking the first head-coaching job for the former Tiger. Principia announced the hire in a news release Thursday.
The former quarterback coached as an assistant at Glendale High in Springfield, where his father, Mike Mauk, was the head coach until 2023 and his brother, Ben Mauk, was on staff. Ben Mauk is now the head coach at Monett High, southwest of Springfield, and both Maty Mauk and Mike Mauk were assistants on his staff last season.
Now, Maty Mauk is taking over his own team.
“I am incredibly honored to join the Principia community,” Mauk said in the release. “This is a special place with a strong foundation, and I’m excited to help these young men grow — athletically, academically, and in their Christian character. We are going to build something that the entire school and community can be proud of.”
“Coach Mauk has a profound understanding of the game, a competitive spirit, and a strong commitment to unlocking the unlimited potential of student-athletes,” Principia athletic director Shawn Brown said in the release.
