Baylor women’s basketball coach Kim Mulkey is reportedly considering coming to LSU to become the women’s basketball coach after the departure of Nikki Fargas.
According to Nick Canizales of KBMT-TV in Beaumont, Texas, Mulkey will make her decision “tomorrow.”
The Advocate originally reported on Friday that there was a “mutual interest” between LSU and Mulkey.
The coach is no stranger to Louisiana, considering Mulkey attended Hammond High School and had a standout career at Louisiana Tech.
Mulkey has had a successful career at Baylor, with an overall record of 632-104 — a .859 winning percentage.
She also holds the third-best winning percentage in women’s basketball history, second to only Connecticut’s Geno Auriemma (.885) and former Louisiana Tech coach Leon Barmore (.869).
It will be interesting to see how LSU’s search for a new head coach develops and if Mulkey ultimately ends up taking the job.
