Gator Nation, stand up! The 2025 NFL Draft has come and gone—and the Florida Gators made their mark in a big way. Seven former Gators heard their names called during the draft, and a few more landed in the league as undrafted free agents, proving once again that talent runs deep in Gainesville.
Here’s the breakdown of the Gators who got the call:
Kingsley Eguakun (C) – Headed to the Pittsburgh Steelers in the 4th round. A strong anchor on the line, Eguakun brings leadership and toughness to the Steel City.
Ricky Pearsall (WR) – Snagged by the New England Patriots in the 5th round. Pats fans can get excited—this guy’s route-running and hands are elite.
Jason Marshall Jr. (CB) – Drafted in the 5th by the San Francisco 49ers, Marshall adds length and coverage skills to an already dangerous defense.
Princely Umanmielen (EDGE) – Picked in the 6th by the Tennessee Titans, he’s a disruptive force off the edge who could wreak havoc in the AFC South.
Trevor Etienne (RB) – Landed with the Kansas City Chiefs in the 6th round. Andy Reid just got another playmaker.
Tyreak Sapp (DL) – A 7th-round pickup by the Miami Dolphins, Sapp’s power and motor should make him a fan favorite quickly.
Austin Barber (OT) – Grabbed in the 7th by the Dallas Cowboys, giving Big D some needed depth and upside at tackle.
But wait—there’s more Gators in the NFL!
The draft wasn’t the end of the story. As soon as the final round ended, teams scrambled to sign even more Florida talent:
Kamari Wilson (S) signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Montrell Johnson Jr. (RB) inked a deal with the Tennessee Titans
Florida fans have plenty to be proud of. With a strong presence in the 2025 draft class, the future is bright for these former Gators as they begin their NFL journeys. Whether it’s in Pittsburgh, New England, San Francisco, or beyond—Gator greatness is spreading across the league!
