TRA-D ENOUGH? Major Travis Kelce retirement update as Kansas City Chiefs star gives huge indication over future with offseason plans
The tight end icon has been going back-and-forth over what his long-term future holds
TRAVIS KELCE’S retirement stance has been revealed after he decided to stay on at the Kansas City Chiefs.
The Hall of Fame-bound star had a disastrous end to a disappointing 2024 NFL season.
That coincided with a shocking 40-22 defeat to the Philadelphia Eagles at the Super Bowl in February.
It ended the Chiefs chance at a historic three-peat, which would have been a first in league history.
Kelce had a poor year by his high standards, with his stats and performances way down.
But the 35-year-old decided to stay on for the 2025 campaign, to try and make up for last year.
According to the Mail, the tight end has been treating this offseason like it is his last.
It is understood he has been under a strict workout regime and diet.
That has seen him lose up to 25lbs, and in some of the best shape of his career.
He wants to lead the Chiefs back to glory and a fourth Super Bowl ring of his own.
That would almost certainly mean he would retire, ending on a high note.
But all the indications so far is that he plans to hang up his cleats after 2025, either way.
The Mail reports that in the summer of 2024, it was a different story.
The Chiefs had just won the Super Bowl against the San Francisco 49ers.
