The Badgers and the Fighting Irish have adjusted their non-conference game at Lambeau Field in Green Bay, moving the date back by one day to Sunday, September 6th, 2026. The game will be one of the featured matchups of college football’s Labor Day Kickoff weekend.
Despite the game being played in the Badger State, Notre Dame will be the home team. The matchup was originally slated for the 2020 season, but was canceled as the COVID-19 pandemic altered the college sports calendar.
NBC will own the broadcast rights through its agreement with Notre Dame.
Wisconsin’s end of the home-and-home series was played at Soldier Field in Chicago during the 2021 season, a 41-13 win for the Irish. This will be the first college football game at Lambeau Field since Wisconsin upset LSU 16-14 in 2016.
The remainder of Wisconsin’s 2026 non-conference schedule includes home dates with FCS Western Illinois (Sept. 12th) and the University of Pittsburgh Panthers (Sept. 19th).
Wisconsin is also scheduled for a special neutral-site game in 2027, traveling to Ireland to play Pitt in the Aer Lingus College Football Classic at Aviva Stadium in Dublin.
