Tigers honor Michigan’s fallen heroes in Memorial Day game at Comerica Park
The Detroit Tigers played in their home state this Memorial Day, and honored Michigan’s fallen heroes while they did.
DETROIT — The Detroit Tigers took on the New York Giants on Monday. As the team played in their home state, the team honored a few of Michigan’s fallen heroes on this Memorial Day.
Some of the players even wore hats bearing the names of Michigan fallen heroes.
Tigers’ second baseman Zach McKinstry honored the memory of United States Army Specialist Evan James Vaillancourt.
Tigers’ shortstop Trey Sweeney honored the memory of United States Marine Corps Staff Sergeant Marcus Bawol from Warren.
The Tigers took home the win on Monday, beating the Giants 3-1.
