Latest expert prediction will leave Florida Gators head coach Billy Napier thrilled
The 2026 recruiting class has been an interesting one for the Florida Gators and head coach Billy Napier.
While the Gators only have two commits so far in the class in four-star quarterback Will Griffin and three-star defensive tackle Jamir Perez. There are a lot of irons in the fire for Napier, and one of them is trending toward making his way to Gainesville.
On3 Sports’ recruiting expert Steve Wiltfong has logged a prediction for four-star running back Carsyn Baker to commit to the Gators.
This is a great sign for the Gators, as they have been making headways when it comes to the recruiting trail.
The recruitment of Baker has been a fascinating one. He’s made his way to 13 different university campuses at least once, but only seven of them he’s been to more than once. In fact, South Carolina is his most visited school with five visits.
What makes things more interesting is Baker, who was once trending toward being an Ohio State Buckeye, cancelled his visit to Columbus in June. That was a big deal and it could be becuse the Gators have made a big play for him.
The Fairburn, Georgia product currently sits as the 18th-best running back in the nation and the 224th overall recruit per the On3 Industry Ranking. The Gators will still need to recruit him hard, as he still has official visits scheduled at Florida State on June 6th and Texas A&M on June 20th.
Baker would slide in well to a running back position group that is currently led by sophomore Jadan Baugh and will need some depth behind him after JaKobi Jackson finishes up this season.
