Pacers Make Historical Rick Carlisle Announcement After Game 4 Win vs. Cavaliers
Not only did the Indiana Pacers pull off a Game 4 win to extend their series lead to 3-1 over the Cleveland Cavaliers, they did so in purely dominant fashion.
Following the Cavaliers’ Game 3 win, there was a chance for Cleveland to even the series. Many expected them to do so. The Pacers shut the door on those chances immediately to begin the game.
At halftime, Indiana held an 80-39 lead. Donovan Mitchell didn’t return for the second half due to an ankle injury and the Cavaliers had no shot at coming all the way back against the red-hot Pacers.
Heading into Tuesday night’s game in Cleveland, Indiana will have a chance to close out the series.
After being the Cavaliers in Game 4, the Pacers made a historical announcement about head coach Rick Carlisle.
“Rick Carlisle passed Larry Bird for the most wins in our NBA playoff history tonight,” the post read.
Carlisle’s career with the franchise spans two different tenures. In his current tenure, the respected head coach has rebuilt a winning culture in Indiana. Without him, this current team likely would not be what it has become.
