Kirby Smart and Georgia Bulldogs get elite CB to flip decision from Vanderbilt
Kirby Smart and the Georgia Bulldogs have won another big recruiting win by flipping a top 2026 cornerback.
Per On3’s Hayes Fawcett, four-star prospect Caden Harris has decommitted from Vanderbilt and is now headed to Athens.
“BREAKING: Four-Star CB Caden Harris has Flipped his Commitment from Vanderbilt to Georgia, he tells me for @on3recruits. The 6’1 165 CB from Brownsville, TN had been. Committed to the Commodores since April Top 80 Recruit (No. 8 CB) in the 2026 On300,” writes Fawcett on X/Twitter.
Harris told On3’s Lance McCurley that Bulldogs defensive backs coach Donte Williams played a major role in his decision to flip his commitment.
“I like how detailed he is, the way he breaks things down to the smallest aspect for you to understand and correct is very catching,” Harris said. “I think it would be great to play for him. All the great products he’s produced and the knowledge he holds would put me in a great position to meet my goals.”
Harris is ranked No. 11 in the class of 2026, No. 85 nationally, and No. 4 in the state of Tennessee, per 247Sports Composite.
Harris was a standout on both sides of the ball at Haywood High School during the 2024 season, recording 30 tackles, seven pass breakups, an interception, and a fumble recovery on defense. Offensively, he added 782 receiving yards, making him one of the top two-way players in Tennessee.
