Gainesville, FL – April 11, 2025 — In an inspiring act of compassion and leadership, University of Florida head football coach Billy Napier has donated his entire $2 million postseason bonus and endorsement earnings to a group of charities and organizations dedicated to fighting homelessness and supporting vulnerable communities across Florida.
The announcement was made Friday morning through an official statement from the University of Florida Athletic Department. According to the release, Coach Napier personally requested that the full amount be allocated to causes addressing homelessness, youth support, food insecurity, and mental health services.
“I’ve been blessed with incredible opportunities throughout my career,” Napier said in the statement. “But as I’ve grown in this role, I’ve come to realize that our impact must extend beyond the football field. This is about giving back to a state and community that has embraced me and my family.”
Napier’s donation will be distributed among several well-regarded nonprofit organizations, including GRACE Marketplace in Gainesville, the Florida Coalition to End Homelessness, Feeding Florida, and youth-focused initiatives in low-income areas. A portion of the funds will also support mental health outreach and transitional housing for families in crisis.
This generous move is being hailed as one of the most significant charitable gestures by a college football coach in recent memory. University of Florida President Ben Sasse commended Napier’s leadership both on and off the field.
