Cavs big man Larry Nance Jr. is donating $50,000 each to the Greater Cleveland Food Bank and Akron-Canton Regional Food Bank amid the coronavirus pandemic, per Chris Fedor of Cleveland.com.

I’m just happy to be able to provide some support to the communities that have supported me,” Nance told cleveland.com.

The Cavs were one of the teams which offered to pay for arena workers during the NBA hiatus. Cavs star big man Kevin Love also donated $100,000 for all team workers.

Before the NBA season got suspended after Utah Jazz big man Rudy Gobert’s positive coronavirus test, Nance and the Cavs had only 19 wins on the season. Cleveland had the worst record in the Eastern Conference standings.

Nance, whose father is a legend in Cleveland, has played in 56 games for the Cavs this season. He’s averaging 10.1 points, 7.3 rebounds and 2.2 assists while shooting 53.1 percent from the floor, 35.2 percent from beyond the arc and 67.6 percent from the free-throw line

The Cavs were on their way to missing the playoffs for the second straight season. Unfortunately, the second-post LeBron James era is going just like the first one: terribly.

The first post-LeBron era did net the Cavs Kyrie Irving. Only time will tell if new youngsters Collin Sexton, Darius Garland or Kevin Porter Jr. can turn into a superstar for the franchise like Irving did.
